About Edoardo, Your Italian Teacher

My name is Edoardo De Santis. I grew up in Alba Adriatica, on the Adriatic coast, I live in Venice, and I have been teaching Italian as a foreign language since 2013.

Today I teach Italian as a Second Language at Politecnico di Milano, and I hold a research scholarship at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice, where I work on making Italian easier to learn for students with linguistic and socioeconomic disadvantages. Before that I taught in London: King’s College, Mill Hill School, Capital City Academy and the Italian Cultural Institute.

In a lesson we speak from the first minute. Around that I use interactive books, exercises I build myself on Wordwall and LearningApps, and my own platform for video exercises: a real video with the questions that go with it, written for the level you are actually at and not for an average class.

After every lesson you get a Quizlet set, free for you, with the words you did not know and the ones you asked to go over again. It is yours to keep: by the tenth lesson you do not have a textbook’s vocabulary, you have your own.

Italian is my mother tongue and I speak fluent English, so nothing has to be guessed. Every student is different, and the material follows the student, not the other way round.
